Who better to feature as our Maverick of the Month than our founder and president, Tim Adams! It was five years ago last month that Tim fulfilled his dream of wanting to own his own company: Maverick Technology Partners was established June 1, 2016.
Tim has been working in the sales side of the consulting business since he graduated from the University of Michigan. Young Tim went off to college pursuing a career in sports management. He graduated with a BS in sports management and communications. Clearly, the love of sport, as well as pride for Michigan, runs in the family; Tim’s first job out of college was via a referral from his Uncle (also a proud Michigan Alum, former Michigan pitcher turned professional baseball coach in the MLB) where he was hired as an Account Executive for Adept.
Tim found much success in his sales positions for IT staffing and eventually moved into management. It was in 2006 when Tim started Tricore’s staffing division for IT and services. After ten years in that role, he was ready – Maverick Technology Partners was born, and Team Maverick was formed. Each member was drafted from Tim’s excellent collection of previous colleagues and partners.

When Tim is not working you will find him with his family. Tim and his fiancée Sue support their kids’ passions. Tim has two teenage children, daughter Emma and son Timmy and Sue also has a teenage daughter, Hannah. They certainly keep busy attending each of their theatre performances, music concerts, field hockey, softball, baseball games, and golf matches!
Tim’s other interests include his own golf game and football. He is proud of his 20+ year membership at his golf club and enjoys having his customers, partners and colleagues join him for a round. If you have the time, bring up the topic of football with Tim – college ball, pro, or Tom Brady, he loves it all and will not be at a loss for words on the subject!
His favorite place is Cape Cod specifically Falmouth where he grew up summering.
When asked what he most enjoys about his 25+ years in business, Tim says he is most proud of the strong relationships and lasting friendships he has cultivated throughout his career.
Tim is in constant communication with Team Maverick which includes partners, customers, consultants, and employees. He truly cares about people. His number one question when speaking to this collection of individuals is always “what can we do to help” and he means it. He puts people first.
