Congratulations to our Maverick of the Month: Dan Colucci!
Dan joined Team Maverick in September of 2022. He supported our customer, a premier Biotechnology Corporation as a Managed Service Delivery Manager. He helped our client raise the maturity of MSP management and delivered cross-team operational excellence. Dan consistently exceeded both Maverick’s and our client’s expectations.

1. How long have you been in Information Technology?
I was an Engineering Manager and primarily worked on VLSI devices for the communications industry. It was in 1978 that I started consulting part-time in the evenings which launched my network consulting company which I transitioned into my full-time job in 1979. Since then, my work in IT has varied but always had the blend of engineering which helped me with my operations and data-center related roles for the past decades!
2. How did you get involved with your current position?
I was contacted by Sally Sweeney (Maverick's Sr. IT Recruiter) and discussed several positions in the summer of 2022 and landed on a role in the Pharma / SDM area that leveraged my 8 years working at Pfizer. Sally was delightful to work with and provided all the details engineering types like myself want to know before considering a new opportunity.
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I still love working with great technology people and that's what makes it work for me!
4. What are your thoughts on the future of the IT industry?
IT will continue to evolve and be different all the time. If you enjoy a great adventure, I think you enjoy working in IT.
5. What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Always trust your own best judgment - it will guide you throughout your life.
6. Where would you go if you won a free trip to anywhere in the world?
Bora Bora
7. What are your hobbies or things you like to do in your free time?
Music: play guitar & sing + Boating & Sailing and anything on the ocean.
