Congratulations to Ed Collins, our Maverick of the Month! This month is more than fitting to feature Ed who is also a Veteran ~ US Army, Charlie Company!

A soldier in the tech world too, Ed is currently serving our client as a Cloud Process Documentation Specialist where he works closely with lead technical people and collects & documents requirements for DevOps Framework. Thank you for your service Ed!

  1. How long have you been in Information Technology?

I've been in IT for over thirty years, and my experience crosses over   biotechnology, IT, medical, healthcare, college/university,   government, manufacturing, retail, energy,   communications & networks, and financials.

  2. How did you get involved with your current position?

Maverick agent, Sally Sweeney, emailed me with   an interesting role in the Biotech space. After a few phone   conversations with Sally, I liked the job description and company     and decided to apply for the position.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I like the people most especially forming new relationships, and because they help facilitate my work, and allow me to creatively and technically do my job. And, of course, I like the work, which is always interesting to me.

4. What are your thoughts on the future of the IT industry?

I have witnessed technology from IBM PC DOS, to Microsoft Windows, to the birth of the World Wide Web, which includes hardware growth from 5-foot mainframes, mini, micro and pc computers to 5-inch cell phones. The future of IT now includes AI morphing into human intelligence, discovering new disease technology success (i.e. our client's success in Alzeimers), making bank deposits without leaving your home, commuting to work from the bedroom to your home office. The IT future is amazing and limitless for development.

5. What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Be kind and always forgive, be honest even when it hurts, and love your neighbor as yourself. And above all, keep Jesus in your heart.  When you live by this standard, you fear nothing.

Then, find what you love to do in this life and do it. To be successful in life, you need to have fun and love what you do.

6. Where would you go if you won a free trip to anywhere in the world?

I would visit the Holy Land in a heartbeat.

7. What are your hobbies or things that you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend time with my grown-up children and one new grandson. I enjoy studying my Faith, writing, jogging, gardening, reading, and researching.

8. What do you enjoy about working with Maverick?

Sally and Tim are terrific! They allow me the independence to do my work, which I really appreciate. However, they are very helpful and provide direction and involvement when it is necessary. They respond immediately to any help request that I make. It's the best of both worlds.

“Ed is a “save the day” consultant, especially with critical projects. He is hard-working, consistent, loyal and exudes integrity. We are grateful he is on our team!"
